It is Monday morning and we are contemplating the wonderful weekend we have just experienced. We opened our garden again this year in aid of Amnesty International Ireland. The word that mostly comes to mind regarding this year’s event is love.
The love of nature expressed by the visitors who came along to wander around the garden and experience the wildlife and plants.
The love we received from friends who came along to help out and baked lovely treats for the event.
The love and support shown towards Amnesty by our visitors who donated so generously in exchange for tea, coffee, cakes, plants and berries!
The squeals of delight and shrieks of laughter from the many young children who climbed up to the tree house, visited the little people and ran along the garden paths chasing each other.
The love for the environment and the planet that we could sense from all our visitors.
We love to share our garden, plants and time and hopefully inspire others in the process. There is so much creativity and love for the natural world in people and we are great believers in helping build strong communities by creating opportunities to meet and share ideas and inspiration.
Our event is only a small drop in the ocean but many drops can create a different current. Our heartfelt thanks goes out to all who participated and made the weekend so special. A very special thanks to the sun, who shone brightly for the whole time, as you can see from the pictures.
What a wonderful event, so many happy faces – I found myself smiling just reading your post! This is definitely what gardens, communities and humanity should be about. Congratulations on hosting something so generous and meaningful and thank you for sharing such an inspirational weekend. π

Hi Mary. We usually only open for one weekend in July. You could call by tomorrow, Wednesday, if it suits and you are living locally. Paul will be at home. The next couple of weeks will be busy as we need to do some renovations in the kitchen.
