Earth Magic

The land is waking up. The nights are still cold but the light reaches a little further every day.

Magical beauty can be found every where you look.

Water droplets hang from a web like prayers yet to be spoken. It is time to pray for a world where greed is demolished. Where nature takes central stage once again.

Everything we need is right in front of us. We just need to approach it from a different angle.

The time for exploitation is gone. It was never really there in the first place.

The earth can make it without us. We can’t make it without the earth.

How come these simple truths are so difficult to comprehend?

We need to choose the road less travelled. The ancient road that leads us home.

There is still time.

But we need to wake up now.

Please.

Wake up!

Wake up now!

  • What a beautiful start to my day in words and pictures, Maria. Thank you! Yes, Kiss The Ground had me in tears, too, the best thing we had watched in a long, long time – so much hope and optimism, and I felt encouraged and reassured to know we are not the only ones who feel so passionately about the earth. We have just embarked on caring for a new patch of land in northern France and I was horrified to find a shed full of toxic garden products, every kind of pesticide and herbicide imaginable, including a dustbin full of industrial strength insect killer. I can only imagine what Mary Reynolds would have to say! There is much healing needed here but we have made a start and I know I will revisit your post often to inspire me along the way. Hope you and your family are all safe and well, best wishes and blessings to you all for a happy, peaceful and very green 2021! 🥰

    • So lovely to hear from you Lis! It must have been difficult moving house in the current climate. It must be lovely to have reached you new place now though, and take some time to settle in. I am looking forward to seeing what your new patch of land will be like. Can you leave all those poisons at some sort of collection point? It sounds truly horrific. At least now they will not go onto any land. I am glad you liked the post. We are all doing well. I spend as much time as possible on the land and the rest on artwork. The new term will be all remote learning and I will stay in lockdown at home for the foreseeable future. There is so much to do, seeds to plant and green buds to admire. Not a second of boredom! Wishing you and you family all the best for 2021 and your new adventures. X
